1. In life, we must learn to let go and transcend again and again. What will life be like when we have let go to the point where there is nothing left to let go or have transcended to the point where there is nothing left to transcend? Why don’t you take a look at the teachings of Zen?

2. Zen Master Nanquan Puyuan once said: “It is not mind, it is not Buddha, it is not object”, so what could it be? You may also want to take a look! But we don’t ask you to give an answer or explain something, because then we will know that you are talking in your sleep again.

3. Based on our spiritual journey of practicing Taoism for many years, we have discovered that perhaps everything is easy to practice, easy to do or easy to handle on the Tao, but it is really not that easy to completely transcend or detach from the self-attachment to the five aggregates of body and mind. To put it bluntly, this “I” is really difficult to deal with. But as long as we have great wisdom, this situation will change 180 degrees.

Those who have great wisdom will deeply realize that it is a huge illusion to regard the “self” of the five aggregates of body and mind as an “individual independent” existence. In fact, whether we call it “heart”, “nature” or “life”, they are originally one, just like the vast and boundless void, which is originally one, isn’t it?

When we have this awareness, we will naturally not position “mind”, “nature” or “life” at the level of “self” of the five aggregates of body and mind. In other words, this “I” has been completely transformed or dissolved by us.

Therefore, we will turn to recognize that the one and selfless body is the ultimate truth of our life. From then on, “life” no longer has the illusions of birth and death, or birth, death, coming and going, but is an unchanging entity. This is our journey of spiritual practice to transform “life” from having four phases to having no four phases, and from having self to having no self, and we provide it to you as a reference.

4. In self-health care, Guanyuan acupoint on the Ren meridian of the human body is a very good option. It is on the midline of the abdomen, three inches below the navel, which is four fingers below the navel.

This is also what practitioners generally refer to as the “lower dantian”. There are three methods of practice. The first is: to abide by the law with your mind. That is to say, when practicing, you should use your mind to lead the Qi, so that Qi and blood will gather in the lower Dantian according to your thoughts.

The second is: palm massage method. That is, place the left palm under the right palm, with the base of the palm against the lower dantian, and rub it clockwise and counterclockwise a hundred times each.

The third is to use moxa sticks for gentle hanging moxibustion, each time for twenty or thirty minutes. It is best to follow up with moxibustion on Zusanli to guide the fire downward and enhance its efficacy. The mind-focusing method can be practiced at any time, with no time limit, and is very convenient.

Long-term practice of this Guanyuan Dantian acupoint exercise can keep the Yuan Yang intact, the body strong, strengthen the true fire, strengthen the life gate, strengthen the kidneys and yang, replenish Qi and blood, enhance immunity, promote the function of the endocrine system, maintain physical health, prevent diseases and resist aging.

It is especially effective for those who suffer from general weakness, shortness of breath, lack of energy, lower abdominal coldness, the elderly, those with congenital coldness, soreness of waist and legs, and memory loss. Among these exercises, the palm massage method is something we would do first in bed before getting up in the morning. And whenever we have time, we often keep our minds focused on the Guan Yuan Dantian acupoint, and even overlap and place our palms lightly on this acupoint. In just three to five minutes, we found that the entire lower abdomen seemed to have a ball of fire burning, and the whole body felt extremely comfortable.

The key to practicing this exercise is to relax your whole body as much as possible, and then focus your mind on the Guanyuan Dantian point in a relaxed and happy mood.

The ancients said that the effect of this point is: “Breathing in and out depends on this. The opening and closing of yin and yang exist here. Without fire, the whole body can be warmed; without water, the internal organs can be moistened. It is related to the life of the whole body.” With such a good effect, of course we have to bring it up and share it with you. These exercises are very simple; it all depends on whether you are willing to practice them persistently. If you are willing, you will naturally feel its powerful effects.
